Garment decoration guide

Give your design texture with puff & glitter vinyl

A bold name, a simple logo or a graphic shape can take on a different character through its finish. Heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) offers options for raised lettering and sparkling details on clothing and fabric accessories.

Three materials we are exploring

Black 3D puff HTV

A black raised finish to explore for bold lettering and simple logos. The final look depends on the artwork and garment.

Puff HTV in mixed colours

Coloured puff materials for ideas with a raised effect. Tell us your preferred shade so we can confirm the actual colour options.

Glitter HTV

A sparkling finish for names, graphic accents or event designs. Glitter gives a different surface effect from puff.

Ideas for shirts, hoodies and tote bags

Start with the design you want people to notice. We will check the detail, size and placement against the chosen item.

  • Bold names and initials
  • Simple brand or club logos
  • Statement lettering on hoodies
  • Graphic details on fabric tote bags

These examples illustrate the puff and glitter finishes while we prepare our own studio samples.

How the puff effect forms

HTV is a shaped material applied to fabric with a heat press. Puff HTV expands when heated and pressed, creating a raised surface. Glitter HTV adds sparkle instead. These are material effects, rather than a printed photograph.

How it differs from embroidery and DTF

Embroidery builds a design with stitches. Full-colour DTF transfers printed artwork. Puff and glitter HTV use the colour and finish of the material itself. Send your design so we can discuss which approach fits its detail and the effect you want.

The garment matters

Please share the garment type, fabric composition, colour and desired placement. We assess suitability for each item, including its finish and response to heat; we cannot confirm compatibility from the fabric name alone.

Before discussing your design

Can I select puff or glitter in the online customiser?

These finishes are not yet selectable online. Use the contact form to discuss your idea; we will confirm availability and garment suitability first.

Can it be used on polyester?

We need to check the specific garment, its composition and finish. Polyester is not a universal approval for a heat-transfer application.

Is sticker paper the same as garment HTV?

No. Sticker paper is a separate material for stickers. It should not be treated as heat-transfer vinyl for clothing.

Tell us what you have in mind

Share your design, garment or bag, preferred colours, quantities and placement. We will discuss the finish and what needs checking before a quotation.
